National BIM Manager, Jasmax
Mel Tristram is a knowledge-leader in BIM implementation and development in New Zealand. She was instrumental in rolling out practice-wide adoption of BIM specialist modelling software, Revit, to Jasmax in 2005, enabling Jasmax to be one of the earliest adopters of this application in the country. Today, as National BIM Manager for Jasmax, Mel continues to advance Jasmax’s application of BIM in their projects.
Recent projects Mel and her team have contributed to are AUT's Engineering, Technology & Design (ETD) building, Ara Institute's Kahukura (Architecture & Engineering School), the University of Otago's Dental School, and Auckland's transformational City Rail Link.
Mel has a clear vision of the value of BIM and its application in project delivery. Her passion and determination for advancing the technology in New Zealand’s design and construction industry has led her to become a regular speaker at industry events both in Australia and America, for example BILT ANZ (Buildings Infrastructure Lifecycle and Technology) and BILT NA (both formerly known as RTC (Revit Technology Conference). Influentially, Mel was a vital contributor towards the development of the ANZRS (Australian New Zealand Revit Standards) and the New Zealand BIM Handbook – the guiding principle documentation for the country.
